Is Grizzly Academy for You?
Want to change the course for your future? Do you want to correct the negative choices you’ve made that have contributed to your situation? Need an environment that is away from negative influences so you can focus on positive choices?
Grizzly Youth Academy is a voluntary program for youth aged 16-18 who have dropped out of high school or are at-risk of dropping out. If this is you, we offer a proven path to turn your life around. There is no cost to families.
You must be prepared to complete 5 1/2 months in residence, followed by a 12-month post-residential period.
Grizzly Academy is a partnership between the California National Guard and the Grizzly Challenge Charter School. To help student-cadets develop skills and habits that have held them back in the past, we are structured as a “military boarding school.” Our approach focuses on the whole person, including a wide variety of extra-curricular activities in addition to academics and vocational learning opportunities.
During the 5 1/2 month residential phase, you will develop essential skills and increase your potential for completing the full program with confidence. You may also earn up to 60 credits toward a high school diploma.
During the post-residential phase, you further strengthen these skills and develop the awareness to continue making positive choices for your future.
